On June 25th, my Dad suffered a heart attack. After seeing major blockage, the doctors decided he needed bypass surgery. The wonderful cardiac team at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan put 5 graphs in him, and he was able to leave the hospital on Tuesday.
Thanks to everyone for your thoughtful texts, calls, and emails. It has really meant a lot to my dad and my whole family.
Dad - I am glad you made it through and know that you will bounce back feeling better than ever. You're more than any daughter could ask for, and I look forward to many more wonderful memories together.

Kemah Time
This weekend we came to Kemah to watch Michael sail in the Gulf Coast Championships. The Ehlerts brought their boat down so we could see the action on the water up close and personal.
With 40 boats all on the water at the same time with the same color sails, it was difficult at first to figure out what was going on, but by the end of the race, we were pros. Michael finished 16th in the regatta overall, and everyone had a great time!
Aftwards, we checked out the Kemah boardwalk and ate at T-Bone Toms. Definitely recommend both! Can't wait to go back and ride the rollercoaster on the boardwalk.

Pre-Game
The summer has begun! I guess technically the road trip has already started, with the car having logged 1500 miles from DC to Dallas. I stopped in Augusta for the weekend to visit the Trevino family and picked up Candice. We had a great time with Amy and met Will for the first time. All I know is that new moms must have some strong arms because those babies weigh a lot more than you'd think...not to mention all their gear!
After Augusta, we headed west on I-20 bound for Dallas. Candice and I stopped at hot spots like the Atlanta Aquarium (recommend viewing the whale sharks) and the Coca Cola Museum. Fun Fact: the aquarium housing the whale sharks is the largest aquarium in the world and is as big as a football field. We also had great ribs at Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa. Their saying is definitely true..."Ain't Nothin' Like 'Em Nowhere!"
We stayed at the El Dorado in Shreveport, LA. Needless to say the craps table was not as kind as the quarter slots. Now back in Texas getting ready for Trey's wedding and then Kemah.
